War Not Politics

Although war is a means by which political opinion and action is carried out, it should not be dictated by politics. War is about good and evil. If the United States judges something evil enough to destroy for the preservation of America then we go to war. Once at war we fight the good fight until the evil enemy is destroyed.

Several Republican Congressman have recently urged President Bush that if things do not improve with the war in Iraq that he will lose support in their swing states.

President Bush has stood firm thus far and I hope he continues to hold his ground, the righteous ground. Ending the war with a troop pullout to maintain or gain political support is wrong. As a man of principal and integrity, President Bush should stand fast in the face of opposition and not subjugate himself or the administration to the pressures of politics. Character means doing what is right even if it means you are in the minority and will forever be be known as that man that kept us in Iraq.
