US/Iran Bilateral Talks......Why?

Secretary of State, Condolezza Rice, stated the US may engage Iran in bilateral talks in Egypt regarding Iraq's futures security. Rice sated, “This isn’t an opportunity to talk about US-Iran issues. This is really an opportunity for all of Iraq’s neighbours to talk about how to stabilize Iraq”. If true, this would mark the first substantial diplomatic action between the two nations since the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979.

Why? Diplomacy fails when that first bullet flies past your head.

Iran has proven itself to be a vicious enemy. Why are they even attending talks on Iraq's security? They are part of the reason we are having the talks. Relations were cut off with Iran after they seized 66 hostages including Americans and held them captive for 444 days. 8 American service personnel were killed attempting their rescue. Now we find ourselves battling an unseen enemy in Iran. They provide funding, weapons and materials that are taking the lives of our American soldiers on a daily basis. The refuse to cooperate in non-proliferation agreements and have threatened nuclear war against it's non-Islamic neighbors. Their leader claims the Holocaust did not happen but yet designs and threatens to carry out one of his own.

I am disappointed that this administration would cave under pressure from liberals who think that holding hands and signing the same song will lead to peace in the Middle East. It will not. They may put on a show for now but if a democrat gets in the White House in November, they will wage war and our government, governing on the defense, will be sucked into a war that will be tough to win.

CIA Black Prisons Pay Off

Abdul al-Hadi, a senior Iraqi Al-Qaeda member, was delivered to Gitmo by CIA operatives this week. Al-Hadi is believed to be a high value target and was described as being a "veteran jihadist".

Al-Hadi was a Al-Qaeda member since the late 1990's and a member of Al-Qaeda's Shura Council that reported directly to Osama Bin Laden. Al-Hadi worked directly with the Taliban in Afghanistan to cement relations and provide a direct link for combat operations.

Al-Hadi had been captured and turned over the CIA which held him in a secret prison abroad and interrogated him for battlefield information. CIA officials would not state where or when he had been captured. They did state that he provided great insight into the inner workings of Al-Qaeda.

The capture of Al-Hadi and his subsequent interrogation is evidence that we are not "losing" the war but rather winning. No one claimed this would be a war consisting solely of "shack and awe" and be over in a week or a year. We are still making positive progress and we must continue.

I hope you agree with me that it is nice to know the only thing this guy will ever see again, is the American flag waving in a free breeze just behind a chain link fence topped with barbed wire.

Saudi Oli Field Attacks Foiled

According to Saudi intelligence, police arrested 172 militants who were plotting a deadly terrorist attacks against Saudi oil fields and the Saudi royal family. Police seized weapons, explosives and evidence that the terrorists were receiving flight training and planned on raiding a prison to free other militants. Interior Ministry spokesman Mansour al-Turki stated, "they had reached an advance stage of readiness and what remained only was to set the zero hour for their attacks". Saudi officials also stated that the suspects were mostly Saudis and they had been "influenced by the deviant ideology”, referring to Islamic extremism.

The leader of Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, stated he ordered the attacks to cripple the Saudis control on oil production, thus weakening the Saudi economy and placing a premium on oil for the United States. Make no mistake, the enemy knows our weaknesses. By attacking Saudi oil fields, the enemy will not have to confront our military and can deliver a devastating blow to the US from the flanks of the war. If a coordinated attack is accomplished on Saudi oil fields and against the royal family you can rest assured that the price per gallon will soar over $10 per gallon, stability will shatter in the Middle East and we will forever be ensnared in war.

Fathers Loved And Lost

Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski's son receives the flag from his casket at his funeral. Written a week before he was killed in action in Iraq he stated,

" I want all of you to be safe. And please don't feel bad for us. We are warriors. And as warriors have done before us, we joined this organization and are following orders because we believe that what we are doing is right. Many of us have volunteered to do this a second time due to our deep desire to finish the job we started. We fight and sometimes die so that our families don't have to. Stand beside us. Because we would do it for you. Becasue it is our unity that has enabled us to prosper as a nation."

A Republican Led Safer America

Republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani has finally stepped up and said what most are thinking: America will be safer with a Republican President.

Let me preempt this post with a quick disclaimer: At this early stage in the Presidential race, I am in no way casting my support to Giuliani over any other Republican candidate. Although Giuliani would be a strong leader in the realm of national security, he has some other values issues which concern me.

Giuliani will assuredly take some heat for stating that, if elected, Democrats would lead America using a pre-9/11 defensive attitude. Giuliani stated he would stay on the offensive and constantly disrupt the enemies attack plans, thus keeping America safe from future terrorist attacks.

Giuliani stated, "we will remain on offense and will anticipate what the terrorists will do and try to stop them before they do it”, "if we are on defense with a Democratic president, we will have more losses and it will go on longer” referring to defeating the enemy. “This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!” Giuliani said. “Never, ever again will this country ever be on defense waiting for terrorists to attack us if I have anything to say about it. And make no mistake, the Democrats want to put us back on defense!”.

When will the rest of the Republican Presidential nominees stand up and call it like they see it? America needs a leader who is not afraid to sacrifice to win in the end.

Hamas And Hezbollah, The Evil Difference

Hamas translated "Islamic Resistance Movement" is a Palestinian organization that forms the majority of the Palestinian Authority. Hamas was created in 1987 from an off-shoot of the Islamic Brotherhood. Hamas believes that Israel is unlawfully occupying Palestinian territories and will defend Palestinians with violence directed towards Israel and its citizens. Common tactics used by Hamas include suicide bombings and kidnappings. Hamas calls for the destruction of Israel and seeks its territorial land back which is currently known as the West Bank and Gaza Strip. According to the US State Department, Hamas is funded by Iran and is listed as a terrorist organization by many allied countries. Hamas seeks Jihad (holy war) in order to solve the problem of Jewish occupation in
Palestine.

Hezbollah translated "party of god" is a Shi'a Islamic organization based in Lebanon. It aligns itself with a Shi'a ideology developed by the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Hezbollah's initial goal was the destruction of Western influences in Lebanon. It currently holds seats in the Lebanese government and has created social welfare programs to help indoctrinate citizens into their belief system. Like Hamas, Hezbollah is funded and armed by Iran and its military actions are sanctioned by Syria. Hezbollah has been identified as a terrorist organization by the US and allied governments.

It is sometimes difficult to determine who is fighting who in the Middle East, but one piece of information is clear, Hamas and Hezbollah are both enemies of Israel and the United States. Within this past year they have kidnapped IDF soldiers and launched rocket attacks against innocent Israeli citizens. These terrorist groups are shepherded under an Islamic Religious ideology and believe that their god has ordered them to attack and kill westerners or those who live under democratic governments. One thing is clear to currents events in the Middle East, both Hamas and Hezbollah have declared war on Israel and the US and both are funded and sanctioned by Iran and other axis of evil states. How can we expect anything but Jihad from Iran?

Israel Attacked......Again

Hamas militants have let loose a barrage of rockets and mortars into Israel on Tuesday marking the end of a five month cease fire. Militants fired the rockets in response to the deaths of Palestinians who were killed in clashes with the IDF (Israeli Defense Force). A "cease fire" has been effect since November after fierce fighting erupted in the aftermath of the kidnapping of an IDF soldier. Hamas is willing to free the soldier in return for hundreds of Palestinians militants.

Abu Obeida, a spokesman for Hamas stated, "this is a message to the Zionist enemy that our strikes will continue...we are ready to kidnap more and more, and kill more and more of your soldiers". Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated that it is important to secure the release of IDF soldiers but that is was not going to repeat "mistakes made in the past" when militants were released and later carried out attacks against Israel.

Israel has has sovereign and Divine right to defend itself and IDF soldiers will engage the enemy when the opportunity presents itself. This differs from Hamas, who will instigate confrontation with the IDF and when engaged will claim they were attacked and launch rockets and mortars into Israeli villages in response. The most striking difference is this: Israel will engage and defend itself against Hamas or Palestinian militants but Hamas is willing to attack Israeli citizens who are not in the military.

Fulfilling prophecy, Israel is and will remain behind enemy lines and locked in constant struggle until the end of days. As an ally of Israel, the United States can rest assured that we will also fight against the Islamic fundamentalists until the end unless we take a determined stand here and now. Although not surrounded by the enemy such as Israel, the United States is public enemy number one in the eyes of numerous enemies: Hamas, Hezbolah, Al-Qaeda, etc. These Islamic radicals believe that Israel and the United States because of its support and presence in the region are Zionists and infidels and they have been ordered by their god to destroy us as the only way to reach salvation.

Harry! Quiet Down, It's School Time.

Harry! Nancy! You kids get over here, it is time for your lesson in English as it relates to foreign diplomacy and war time democracy. Now Harry, I have told you before, but you must think before you open your mouth and prove the world right in their opinions regarding your idiocy. Before you pledged that the War in Iraq was lost, why didn't you take the time to research exactly what the word means? Let me show you:

The word lost can also be defined as astray, cast away, disorientated, forfeited, irrecoverable, irretrievable, off-course, vanished, bygone, consumed, dead, demolished, destroyed, devastated, exterminated, forgotten, obliterated, perished, ruined, squandered, wasted, un-remembered...shall I go on?

Harry, you have submitted and claimed defeat! To submit means to acquiesce, appease, capitulate, concede, fold, quit, resign, succumb and surrender. Did I ask you to surrender? Did anyone ask you to surrender? You believe in a phased transition of US forces out of Iraq and the use of diplomacy as a prime weapon in the war on terror, yet you claim we lost.

You have offered the enemy the keys to our backdoor and have taken up a white flag for protection as they unknowingly creep by you into the shadows of our lives. There they will wait until we fall asleep then they will attack with re-newed vigor and attempt to destroy us. Instead of working to end this war, you have simply delayed the inevitable. Know that we will again fight this war. Although, it will not be you or I, it will be our children and grandchildren and they will fight with weapons much deadlier than an IED.

Letters Home

I have sometimes been accused of war mongering and encouraging our government in seeking the undeniable destruction of the enemy with violence of action. Well, your accusations are well founded. I do want evil wiped of the face of this earth and I am willing to support our government in military actions that it determines is reasonable and prudent in dealing with the threat. However, this support does not come blindly and without great confliction.

I know what our sacrifices are and it pains me every time one of our boys dies on a foreign battlefield never to come home. I have spent hours in the recent days writing to the wives, mothers, fathers and children of dead Americans who sacrificed their lives to spare ours. I know full well what it means when Daddy does not come home to his newborn. It is an unimaginable tragedy.

Do not lecture me or demonstrate against our government about the costs of this war unless you know how it affects those who are actually fighting on the front lines. Politics and economics should not be the reason why you are for or against this war. Good vs evil and the men surviving in the middle should be your only reason.

Good men live and good men die, but regardless they are true Americans and better than I.

War is "Lost" According To Reid

In an ironic twist to my earlier post, Democrat "leader" Harry Reid claimed that the war is "lost". Reid told reporters, "I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week". Reid is referring to VBIEDs (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) that claimed the lives of approximately 200 Iraqis yesterday.

Obviously Reid has not done his homework. Since the troop surge has been in place, Iraqi civilian casualties have leveled off. After rising exponentially every month for the last year, rising from 600 to 1,600 hundred, the rate of Iraqi civilians killed has steadied itself for the last 3 months.

Victory cannot be ours unless we believe we can win and strive for it. The second we fall into Reid's trap and claim defeat, then we will start down that road and never make it back. By claiming defeat, the enemy has been emboldened and believing it is close to victory will intensify their fighting in an effort to drive the infidels out. Once that is accomplished, they will come for us with a renewed reason to take our lives.

Harry, you, Nancy and your band of "losers" have already proven to be ineffective leaders and have provided evidence that you will take the path of least resistance just because it is an easier path to walk. You must recognize that this path will lead to a dark and evil place and some day you will be asking the American soldier to bail you out...again.

Bush Haters Must Admit We're Winning

For those who believe we are losing the war and basing that opinion on the total of American war dead you are assuredly mistaken. First we must understand that a major key to winning the war, any war, is killing and destroying more of the enemy then us. That said, American service personnel have decimated the enemy at a comparatively low rate to that of American loss. There is much more to this war then a body count however.

In Afghanistan, coalition forces led by the United States have rooted the Taliban fighters and ousted their regime, Al-Qaeda no longer has a safe haven, Afghanistan has a new democratic President, Afghans have elected Representatives and voted on a Constitution, women who were previously beaten in the streets and denied any rights are now guaranteed the right to vote as well as other freedoms, 145 health care facilities have opened and 4.5 million children have be inoculated, 200 schools have been built, 7,000 teachers trained and 25 million textbooks given to children.

In Iraq, coalition forces led by the United States rooted Saddam Hussein's regime within 3 weeks, Hussein has been tried for and convicted of numerous war crimes by the newly formed Iraqi government and has since been hanged for his brutal crimes, the international community has pledged more than $32 billion to rebuild Iraq's infrastructure, Iraq's oil infrastructure has been renovated and can now contribute to their economy with the production of 2.4 million barrels of oil per day, under the Hussein regime only $16 million was spent on health care as opposed to the $950 million spent today, more than 8 million textbooks have been given to children, institutions of higher learning are open and free press and small business are flourishing.

These highlights are conclusive evidence that we are winning the war and the world is better place for it. It has costs the lives of many American men and women. Many would ask if it was worth it? Ask the soldier that gave their life or the Iraqi boy who whose life was spared by American medicine and I believe they would say yes.

Victory

"You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terrors. Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival"
- Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill

American Soldiers Deserve Our Respect

More important than our political beliefs, our views on the war and daily concerns about what to wear to work and where to go to lunch, is our soldiers. The word that immediately comes to mind as describing our American service personnel is sacrifice. One dictionary describes sacrifice as, "the surrender or destruction of something prized or desirable for the sake of something considered as having a higher or more pressing claim".

I am sure that soldiers and citizens alike have their own views as to why soldiers fight for us. Two reasons are strikingly apparent for all, freedom and love. Soldiers fight on behalf of you and me, for our freedom and for a world free from terror. Soldiers do this because they love us and they understand that some things are worth giving their life.
Soldiers have honored their comrades in foreign lands hours after a violent attacks by a ruthless enemy. They have paid the ultimate sacrifice. What we too often forget is the wounded who have also sacrificed; their sacrifice was that of pain. The picture above shows a father awaiting surgery on his hand that was blown off during an attack in Iraq. He was lucky, he was able to come back home to hold his daughter. Many leave behind not only parents and spouses but also sons and daughters. Only a parent can understand when a son or daughter loses their father or mother in combat.
Although a tragedy, this sacrifice has been made by rough and ready men and women who are stronger than us. College degrees, good jobs and fast cars do not the better man make. We cannot begin to compare ourselves with the American soldier. Their heart pumps a redder blood than ours. They live for us when we only live for ourselves.

Department Of Peace And Non-Violence???

Believe it or not this has been proposed by the Democrats.

A federal cabinet formed for the sole reason of advising any and all sectors of government on approaching issues and incidents in a peaceful and non-violent manner. This cabinet would be responsible for foreign diplomacy as well as domestic agendas. I will not offer my opinion on the absurdity that will be inflicted upon us on the domestic level should this department be implemented. It is a fact that the government cannot control society and only dedicated families formed in the eyes of and directed by the morals of God can do that. More importantly, is the affect this department will have upon our national security.

Some of the goals of the department in relation to foreign policy would be, providing ethics and value based advise to the Department of Defense, advise the Secretary of Defense and State on all national security and human rights issues to include the de-escalation of armed and un-armed conflicts, providing for the creation of a multinational non-violent police force and creating policies regarding the input of media regarding the escalation and de-escalation of conflicts.

Am I the only one who can see how idiotic and dangerous this is?

Our government, for the most part, acts and re-acts in an ethical matter. This is evident in the amount of bureaucracy we face when conducting an armed conflict. Instead of simply destroying the enemy we conduct ourselves as a nation in a manner that defines ethics and thus draws any violent conflict out. As far as a multinational non-violent police force, can someone help explain to me how this is even possible? What happens when someone is naughty in front of the non-violent police force? Nothing would be the appropriate answer. Instead of a police force you now have an observation and reporting force. Finally, the only input we need from the media is where to e-mail the latest government approved conflict update for news distribution. We don't need advise from the media and we sure as hell do not need them embedded with our soldiers to document a possible human rights violation which will assuredly land an American soldier in Leavenworth.

We live in a tough and violent age. We do not seek conflict with others, it is brought against us because of our efforts in spreading freedom to the world. By employing a peaceful and non-violent agenda in any and all issues or incidents we are effectively tying our governments hands in the protection of it's citizens. Some global incidents require a swift and violent reaction not more talk. If we wait, rest assured that more good Americans will die, not just abroad but here at home as well.

The Fallen

3,654

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Al-Queda's Attempted Alergian Assasination

For those who thought Al-Qaida was old news and terrorism was confined to Iraq, the Algerian government has news for you. Today, Al-Qaida has claimed responsibility for the bombing of an Algerian government building that left at least 23 people dead and 160 wounded. Today's bombing coincides with Tuesday's suicide bombing in Morocco. Officials believe that todays attacks in Algeria was actually an assassination plot to kill the Algerian Prime Minister. If true, this would be the fourth assassination plot carried out by Al-Qaida in different countries.

The attack, codenamed "Badr Raid" for a 7th century battle between Prophet Muhammad and his enemies, has struck fear into the Algerian people. One woman stated, "“We thought the years of terrorism were over”, “We thought that everything was back to normal. But now, the fear is coming back". Claiming responsibility, an Al-Qaida member stated, " We won’t rest until every inch of Islamic land is liberated from foreign forces”. Those foreign forces are the United States and the Islamic land that he refers to is...the entire world, including the US.

This is the perfect example of what the future holds for America. The Algerian insurgency erupted in 1992 and lasted over a decade. The Algerian people felt the terrorism was over and out of nowhere suicide bombers attack and claim they will not stop until the world has been drowned under Islam. Idle times have past and stands must be made. We are facing a relentless enemy and it is time that the civil world became relentless as well.

Soldiers' Angels

Through Blackfive, I learned of an important organization who's goal is to make sure that no soldier goes unloved. It's website is located at http://www.soldiersangels.org/ and is linked from this site. There mission is daunting and I am asking that good and committed Americans step up and help out.

Through Soldiers' Angels, there are many opportunities to send our soldiers a little piece of home while they put their lives on line to defend us in Iraq and Afghanistan. At minimum, you can adopt a soldier a send him one letter a week and 1-2 care packages a month. Is that too much to ask to help our soldiers make it through war with a little bit of sanity and stability, knowing that there are people here at home who love and support them? I don't think it is.

I have adopted Spec Peter Tudor who is on IED patrol in Afghanistan. I don't know Peter but he has my respect and love and I thank him for what he does. I have also committed to the Living Legends team. This team has undertaken a special task in my opinion. Every time a soldier sacrifices their life upon the alter of freedom, that soldiers family will receive, at the very least, a letter from a Living Legend team member. Although, we don't know these brave soldiers, we know why they died and just a little note to their family might help them understand what their loved one meant to us.

Please take 15 minutes out of each week and dedicate it to writing a soldier and telling them how proud we are of them.

May no soldier go unloved.

May no soldier walk alone.

May no soldier be forgotten,

Until they all come home

Why We Fight...American Hero Unveiled

Heroism and loyalty unveiled...shown to us by a young man who realized what the consequences of in-action would be and a man who knew the costs and outcome of his actions yet chose to undertake it. This is Gunner's Mate Second Class Danny Dietz, United States Navy SEALs and he gave his life for a friend, for a country...for you and me.

In June of 2005, Dietz and members of his unit were on a SR (Special Reconnaissance) mission to locate an enemy leader in Afghanistan. Enemy sympathizers informed the enemy of their position and Dietz and his team were taken under heavy fire by the enemy who vastly outnumbered the SEALs and attacked from an elevated position.

The SEAL unit called for assistance and while en route to the scene, a military helo carrying eight additional SEAL members was hit by gunfire and crashed, killing all eight SEALS and eight 160th SOAR Nightstalker aviators.

Members of Dietz's team were wounded and Dietz urged them to escape while he covered them. Dietz continued to battle the enemy and provide cover to his teammates. Dietz was struck and mortally wounded but he continued to fight. Dietz died, giving his life for a friend. His death is representative of the all soldiers who fight on foreign soil, some never to return home. They do it for each other and for all of us.

Dietz was awarded the Navy Cross for his valor. He is a recent addition to a long list of great Americans who realized that freedom and your fellow man are noble reasons to give your life. God bless you Danny. May your fortitude and patriotism be an everlasting example of what and American should be.

Leadership Through Action Not Status

Leadership through action, not status, is my advice to Nancy.

Although comical, the above picture is a perfect representation of Pelosi's arrogant trip to the Middle East. ET ie: Pelosi leading her marry band of impressionable followers into the Lion's Den. My question is why did she go? Did she really think she could dictate foreign policy or create a shadow Presidency? She did succeed in one thing however; she humiliated herself and our government with her thoughtless power-trip.

First of all, her non-sanctioned trip is in violation of the Logan Act. The Logan Act, a US federal law last amended in 1994, forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. President Bush told her simply not to go and she went anyway. This is a violation, although I doubt it will be acted upon.

Second, Pelosi is the Speaker of the House not the Secretary of State. The duties of the Speaker are to head the House and the majority political party, as well as perform administrative and procedural functions. She is in no way to form or conduct foreign diplomacy, especially with enemy regimes. The Secretary of State is appointed by the President and is the chief foreign affairs advisor. Notice the key word here: advisor. Only the President can determine US foreign policy. So if the Secretary of State cannot make US foreign policy then what makes Pelosi think she can?

Lets say for the sake of argument that her trip did not bring so much controversy based on her just going; she still failed us miserably. Her most devastating actions came when she claimed to speak for the Israeli government and offered peace to Syria. The Israeli government immediately dis-counted this statement and said that Pelosi does not speak for them and no such offer was made. Israel will not offer anything, let alone peace, until Syria dis-continues is support of terrorism.

So again I must ask the question: why did she go? From day one with her, "I am the most powerful women in the world" comment to now she has brought nothing but disgrace to herself and more importantly her office. Third in line for the Presidency, you must lead by example. Just because you have a prestigious title does not mean you can lead a nation. Nancy, you have forfeited any respect anyone, except your cronies, had for you. God forbid we find ourselves in a detracted military operation after November 2008 with your party in office. I might decide it is worth becoming a martyr just so I don't have to be subjected to your foolishness anymore.

Mahmoud's World

If you don't think the US has been infiltrated by the enemy, think again. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sent his evil twin brother to win over the hearts and minds of our little boys and girls in hopes of producing the next generation of American haters. Don't believe me? Looks at their latest family pictures: both have extremely large noses, googly eyes and are covered in matted fur. Hey little girls and boys, look at me, la la la la, la la la la, Mahmoud's world, I have kidnapped your mommy and daddy la la la la, la la la la. Come and say hi, I live on Sesame Street, with Mr Noodle and his brother Mr Noodle la la la la, la la la la. Mahmoud loves his proliferation
and his prisoners too la la la la, la la la la, Mahmoud's world.
Look at me, Mahmoud can use the potty la la la la, la la la la.

He he, hoo hoo, your sanctions tickle la la la la, la la la la, thats
Mahmoud's world.

Propaganda Machine Rolls On With Sailors Release

If you didn't think Iran was trying to influence public opinion with propaganda during the detention of the 15 sailors then look at what they did when they finally released them. 3 piece suits and hair dress for the woman? I am sorry but that is not going to make me believe that they were not ill treated when taken as prisoners of war and subjected to their religous beleifs.

Iranian President's Pooper Propaganda

Well, if news reports are accurate and President Ahmadinejad does not renege on his word, then the 15 UK soldiers should be released as a "gift" to the UK. He pardoned the soldiers and announced their release minutes after he pinned medals of honor on the chest of three Iranian Coast Guardsmen who kidnapped the UK soldiers. President Ahmadinejad stated, "on behalf of the great Iranian people, I want to thank the Iranian Coast Guard who courageously defended and captured those who violated their territorial waters". He further stated, "how can you justify seeing a mother away from her home, her children? Why don't they respect family values in the West?".

I think the Iranian propaganda machine is defiantly firing on all cylinders. What kind of pathetic patriotic garbage is this guy pedaling. Pinning the medal of honor on the Iranian Coast Guard sailors for a simple interdiction...I mean kidnapping effort. That is a bit over board. I am sure it took a lot of courage to overtake a small rubber boat at gun point, come on Mahmoud. This clues us in to what passes for honor in that country. I can't believe he is lecturing us on family values. We are not the ones who mask our women, refuse to offer them simple human rights, send husbands and fathers into war to blow themselves up and teach their young children to carry guns and kill the infidels. Thanks, but I think I will get my moral lecture from somewhere else.

I think I know what Mahmoud's middle name is and it is much easier to pronounce....idiot.

The Gitmo Reprieve

On Monday, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Guantanamo detainees who were seeking a review of their five year detention. The issue at hand is whether detainees have the right to legal protections offered under the US Constitution. Lawyer, Tom Wilner, who represents the detainees who brought the suit stated, "all these people ever wanted was a fair hearing". Yeah, and all the victims of September 11th ever wanted, was to go home and have dinner with their loved ones. I feel real sorry for them.

These detainees were not nabbed in some massive sweep of Afghans and Iraqis, they were targeted by US and allied personnel during combat operations. Specific evidence was obtained to identify these people as enemy combatants, whether by evidence found in their homes or the fact that they were trying to kill our soldiers. These are not citizens and are not subject to the law of our land. When entering into combat with the US, you are subject to our military and what they decide is the best course of action when dealing with identified enemy.

It appears the suit will later be brought before the Supreme Court again in a further effort to have these cases heard. When that happens, the actions of the US military will further be restrained and more good Americans will die. Maybe we should execute justice on the field of battle instead of a US courtroom.
