Soldiers' Angels Needs Your Help

Soldiers' Angels needs your help...today!

Soldiers' Angels is an organization dedicated to assisting soldiers in combat theaters overseas and their families at home. The standard way people can help is to adopt a soldier. By adopting a soldier you are committing to writing just one letter a week and sending one care package a month. This is a small devotion of time you can give to send a little piece of home to our brave men and women overseas.

As of last week, Soldiers Angels received a request asking that 3,000 Marines from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit be submitted for adoption by angels. We need everyone to step up and adopt a soldier. Not only do we need to get angels for these Marines but we need to make sure that every soldiers that is submitted gets adopted. These soldiers need to know that they are loved and appreciated.

I have adopted a young man by the name of Peter. I have written him and sent him packages. He finally found the time (in the middle of combat) to write back which I did not expect. He just got back from a short leave to the states where he was able to enjoy the birth of his first child. Sadly, he had to return to Afghanistan shortly after. Peter could be anyone to anybody. He is a Father, Husband, Relative and Friend. If a couple minutes that I take for granted can turn a day in Afghanistan into a better day then what choice do I have but to sacrifice for him. After all he is making a sacrifice for you and me and is willing to take a bullet for us.
