4 Stars At The Wall

"These are yours not mine" was the inscription left at the wall under the names of three soldiers who died in the Vietnam War. Along with those words were the four stars of former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace.
Left for the boys that earned them for him.

House To House: A Must Read

Probably the best book I have ever read, hands down. House to House will take you inside the fear, rage, heroics and courage of The Fight for Fallujah. The title of the book says it all. Battling the enemy from one house to the next. I have read many books on war in general and on Iraq specifically, but nothing comes as close to actually being there as this book does.

SSG David Bellavia and his men are moving from house to house. His men get pinned down in a room with several barricaded insurgents fighting from the next room over. Everything is tried and nothing works to kill the insurgents, the only option that is left is to go in there and face ‘em down. SSG Bellavia enters the hallway and begins suppressive fire toward the insurgents allowing all of his men to escape.

It does not end there, the insurgents are still an imminent threat. Bellavia decides to do the dirty work himself. He enters the house again, but what he doesn’t know is that the insurgents are doped up on adrenaline. In a face to face battle, Bellavia kills several insurgents in the first room. Bellavia hears something in the closet and thinks it’s the Boogieman. Before he can react, another insurgent jumps from the closet and is cut down by Bellavia.

Bellavia moves upstairs and takes machine gun fire from only feet away. He cuts down another insurgent. Another one fires from the first room. Bellavia tosses a grenade in and stuns the insurgents. He enters the room. A hand to hand battle ensues, Bellavia punches and smashes the insurgents face with his helmet, the enemy will not give up. The insurgent produces a hand gun and a round goes off. Bellavia is finally able to get to a knife on his belt and plunges into the enemy.
In the end of what seemed like an eternity long battle between Bellavia and the insurgents, Bellavia walked out of the house and six insurgents lay inside dead. Realistically, he killed several of them more than once. If they were not doped up they would have dies much sooner. Bellavia continued fighting for days after this incident. He was nominated for the Medal of Honor and received the Silver Star.

American Hero, Navy SEAL Mike Murphy

As a follow up to my post regarding Operation Redwing, where a four man SEAL sniper team battled two hundred Taliban fighters to lose three of its four members, Lt. Mike Murphy will be posthumously receiving the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions that lonely day in Afghanistan. His family will accept the medal at the White House next week.

US Attack On Our Ally Turkey?

Has anyone stopped to think of the Democrats’ motivations regarding the resolution convicting Turkey of Genocide against the Armenians back in World War I? I understand they want to make everything right even if it was something that happened before any of them were born, but their motivations are not to document genocide and list Turkey as the committer of it. No, just like raising taxes to help support the war as they claim, but rather gaining dissent against the war, this is just another tactic used to help defeat the American soldiers on the ground in Iraq.

Turkey is one of strongest allies not only in the region but in the War in Iraq as well. By passing this resolution against the Turks for something that happened so long ago, we risk Turkey pulling its support from us. Not only will we lose their support, we may lose their cooperation regarding US bases in Turkey. Turkey borders Iraq and acts as our main land based supply line into Iraq. If we lose this route into Iraq, it will become inherently difficult to get supplies to our troops in a timely manner. It will also affect our response capabilities with strike aircraft based in Turkey.

This is just another way for the Democrats to try and lose this war. They will continue to try plots such as these to try and affect the outcome of the war. Instead of just battling on the grounds that they do not believe we should be in Iraq, they have to resort to sulky activities such as these.

Attempted Attack on US Embassy In Vienna

On Monday, officials arrested an Islamic Bosnian after he entered the US Embassy in Vienna wearing a backpack filled with grenades, plastic explosives, shrapnel and a Muslim prayer manual. A second suspect was arrested Tuesday.

Not much information on this yet but it adds to the running tally of attacks, attempted for fulfilled, that we find ourselves the victim of.

San Jose Man Held For Aiding Terrorists

A judge ruled in favor of federal prosecutors, stating that a San Jose man charged with aiding terrorist must remain in jail pending his trial. Rahmat Abdhir was arrested on August 2nd after a federal grand jury indicted him for aiding terrorists. Abdhir, a computer engineer, was caught sending weapons, camouflage clothing and thirty radios to his brother, Zulkifli Abdhir, 41, a high ranking members of an Al-Qaeda off shoot group. Zulkifli Abdhir is designated as a “specially designated global terrorist” by the US government. Parts of the radios that were sent were used as a detonator in a terrorist bomb blast that killed five people in the Philippines last year.

The American Standard

So I have been accused of being over the top, on the radical right just as far off center as the left wing nut jobs that seek to destroy our country. Let me ask you this, do you know what is happening within and to our country? Considering yourself a moderate or just right there of will not win the war against the enemy or those who seek to destroy our country within. Let’s review some of the current events that occurred recently.

General Petraeus goes before Congress and issues the much anticipated report on Iraq. He stated that although we have a long way to go to complete our mission, we have been successful. MoveOn.org responds by taking out a full page ad in the New York Times stating, General Petraeus or “General Betray Us” just because they did not like what he said. The New York Times also gave MoveOn.org a significant discount to run this add, showing their alliance with the organization and the left.

A “soldier” claims to have come back from Iraq and stated that he has committed many atrocities, including gunning down women and children leaving a Mosque. It is determined that this person never really served in the military after being kicked out of boot camp. His entire story was fictitious in an effort to undermine support for the war and he was sentenced to 5 months in jail for falsifying his military record. Rush Limbaugh, referring to this individual and others who have done the same, called them “phony soldiers”. The left wing propaganda machine spun his comment to mean that all veterans who are against the war are “phony soldiers”, not just the ones who are actually making war crimes up.

When MoveOn.org ran the ad, there was disgust and up-roar about not supporting our troops and attempting to disgrace a decorated war veteran. When people asked politicians to go on the record and condemn the ad, left wing extremists like Harry Reid refused to do so. Now, with Limbaugh’s comment taken out of context, Harry Reid was the first person to stand on the floor of Congress and condemn his remarks.

A store in Reno, Nevada flies the Mexican flag above the American flag. Federal law codifies the display of the American flag and that no other flag should fly above it, however it is not an enforceable law. A veteran goes to the store and without violent incident or interference from the store owner cuts both flags off the pole. The veteran stated that the American flag would not be desecrated on his watch. Instead of the incident being a mute issue or the owner of the store facing legal troubles, it is now being discussed that charges be brought against the veteran for protecting the American flag.

School Districts in Illinois have added Ramadan to the list of official holidays to be observed by the schools. Illinois schools have also banned Halloween and resorted to calling Christmas a winter festival. All this to avoid offending Muslims at the risk of offending others.

Soldiers coming home from Iraq land in Oakland for a layover while en route to their base in Hawaii. Oakland airport states that the troops are not welcome in the main terminal and instead are directed to sit in a warehouse hundreds of yards away out of the view of other passengers.

The United States Marine Corps silent drill team is traveling the country performing demonstrations for enthusiastic crowds. They prepare to perform in San Francisco and want to film the event for publicity purposes. San Francisco refuses to let them perform stating nothing as their justification. San Francisco is the same city that tried to ban the US Navy Blue Angels jet team from flying at the annual fleet week last year.

Congressional “leaders” of our country have resorted to referring to members of the US military as being things less than heroic. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) compared members of the US military to Nazi guards, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) accused military personnel of being “cold blooded killers” and Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) stated “Saddam’s torture chambers reopened under new management, U.S. management”.

Democrats have come up with a new tactic in their war on war. In a revived effort to cut and run from the War, democrats think they can scare Americans by raising taxes. They claim they can better manage the war with more money created from raising taxes. Hello! This is the same group that battle President Bush when he asks for more money to fund the war. The Democrats believe that by raising taxes, Americans will be un-willing to pay and thus be more susceptible to the idea of pulling out of Iraq.

I am sure there are many more examples I could lists but you get the idea. Put aside the War in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places, this is directed towards what we are doing to ourselves. United we stand, divided we fall. Ever heard that one? Uniting as a country under one goal is the only way to win. I understand that is idealistic and we will always be split down the middle, but do we have to be split on things such as Flag desecration and bowing down to Muslim demands at the sacrifice of long standing American traditions. Do we have to play political games and bicker back and forth, while we name call our troops and refuse to stand on their behalf?

We should all be ashamed of ourselves. Those of you who commit these acts and defile our nation’s moral foundations and destiny and those of us who fail to stand for what is right. If you refuse to stand on behalf of what is right then you are just as wrong as those who stand on the other side.

It’s common sense. Even if you are against the War, that does not mean you have to act with callous disregard to our men and women in uniform or for what America stands for. America stands for all that is just and right in this world. You can argue about how we go about accomplishing things but you cannot argue that the goal of America is freedom and peace.

This is a defining moment in time. Inaction accomplishes nothing. Take a stand for what is righteous. We are Americans…let’s start acting like it.

Lone Survivor: Operation Redwing

Operation Redwing was designed to kill or capture a high ranking Taliban leader in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan. The mission was assigned to a four man sniper unit of Seal Team 10. They were to infill behind enemy lines and lay eyes on a village suspected to hide the Taliban leader. The enemy opposition was estimated to be 80-200 hardened Taliban fighters. The mission was to get in undetected, kill or capture the leader and exfill without confronting the Taliban fighters. The mission would end with the label of being the largest loss of Special Operations life in history.

In his book, “Lone Survivor”, author and only surviving members of the four man sniper team, Marcus Latrell relays the following chain of events that tested his SEAL training and mental toughness.

The four members of SEAL Team 10 fated for this mission were commanding officer Mike Murphy, Matthew Axelson, Danny Dietz and Marcus Latrell. They infilled into the mountain range and hiked through the night with 65 pounds of gear a piece on very technical terrain. The made into their hide or observation point early the next morning and laid eyes on the village.

After a while, three Afghans came upon them. Fearing they were Taliban, the SEALs took the upper hand and engaged the Afghans. They claimed they were goat herders and not Taliban, a statement made more plausible due to the sheep surrounding them. The team knew that if they released them they would most likely alert the Taliban. They had to decide whether to release them or kill them. Due to fear of reprisal for their actions back home they elected to let them live.

Shortly after, the team noticed approximately 100 Taliban fighters standing on the ridge preparing their attack. The “goat herders” had alerted the Taliban. Now the four SEALs were faced with battling 100 Taliban. The Taliban began to close on their general position not knowing exactly where they were. The fire fight started when one Taliban got to close and was dropped by Latrell.

The battle raged for hours. The Americans were falling back as the Taliban pressed their attacks. Several times the Americans were almost overrun when the Taliban had their flanks covered. During the relentless combat there after, Dietz took six AK 47 rounds at different times. After each shot, he returned to the fight and continued dropping the enemy. At one point Dietz was being dragged away after taking an AK 47 round. He held his M4 rifle up with one hand and was continuing to kill Taliban fighters.

As the enemy continued pressing their attack, the four SEALs continued killing them. It was approximately 45 Taliban against each SEAL. As the SEALs continued gunning down and killing them enemy more and more appeared on the ridge. They were constantly re-enforcing their ranks and pressing the attack.

The SEALs were still battling hard. Axelson, who had already been shot in the stomach, took another round to the head which blew off the right side of his head. After staggering up the hill, he regained his sense and continued engaging the enemy.
Commanding Officer Mike Murphy attempted to get comms with a QRF but was unable. As a last resort, he moved into the clear risking being shot by the Taliban to make a last desperate cell phone call. He made contact and asked for help and stated his men were dying. Back at base, other SEALs immediately mounted up and moved into the mountains by helicopter. While trying to get to their buddies, the helicopter took an RPG round and crashed. All SEALs on board and the 160th SOAR Nightstalker crew perished.

By this time, Mike Murphy, Matthew Axelson and Danny Dietz were dead. Latrell was blown down the mountain and was able to avoid capture. Over the next day, Latrell watched as the enemy searched for him and was able to kill several more of them.

Members of the local village came upon Latrell and discussed whether to help him or turn him over to the Taliban. The villagers are not Taliban but do help them in the mountains. An old tradition says that if they take someone in to the village they must protect him with their lives. They elected to help him and hide him from the Taliban.

Over the next six days, the village elder helped Latrell survive, dressed his gunshot and shrapnel wounds and evade the Taliban. Later, the village elder would walk 65 miles to an American base to inform them of Latrell’s position. During the six days they had many close calls involving the Taliban looking for Latrell but with the help of the villagers, he was able to stay alive.

In the end, Latrell and several members of the village left the village to move to an American friendly base several miles away. As they left, they became encircled by the Taliban. Just then, an American Ranger came out of the bushes and greeted Latrell. Latrell informed them of the enemy’s positions and air strikes began pounding the enemy.

The loss of special operations life on this mission is unfathomable, but much must be said about the character of these men. To sustain so much tragedy as a team, all suffering from gunshot and shrapnel wounds, seeing their friends and brothers die and they did not quite. They continued to fight, killing over 100 hardened Taliban fighters. These men are true heroes, the sacrificed everything for each other, so that the other guy would live. This is what our American military is all about. These are the greatest men of our generation.

US Airstrikes Pound Possible Bin Laden Location

In a secretive mission conducted in late August, US forces killed many Al Queda terrorists while attempting to kill Bin Laden himself. Intelligence suggested that a pre-Ramadan meeting was to occur in the mountains of Tora Bora, including the presence of high value targets, specifically Bin Laden or Ayman al Zawahiri. Intelligence also suggested that is was most likely Bin Laden because of observations made on the ground of his security detail.

Members of the 82 Airborne and Afghan forces moved into the mountain passes and cut off possible escape routes. A SEAL team was infilled at night to put eyes on target. Once in position they called in enemy locations and US air strikes pounded the mountains for three days.

Although it has been confirmed that neither Bin Laden or Zawahiri were killed in the air strikes, US forces found many dead Al-Queda terrorists within the rubble.

Officials believe that Bin Laden was there and the reason he was not killed is because of US military cooperation between units. The SEALs are a clandestine unit capable of moving into an area un-detected and conducting surveillance of the target. The 82 Airborne, on the other hand, while a formidable fighting unit is not made for clandestine operations and cannot move as quickly as a small unit like the SEALs. The lack of coordination between these units is suspected as having been the reason why Bin Laden was not killed in the attacks.

Although the mission did not get Bin Laden, it did get numerous other terrorists and for this reason the mission was a success. We are getting closer to getting Bin Laden; and if nothing else he will be on the run for the rest of his days, not knowing who is coming in the darkness of night and how they will take his life.

Hope Rides Alone: By An American Hero

Two days ago, Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at 7am, American Hero Sgt. Eddie Jeffers was killed during combat operations in Ramadi, Iraq. Godspeed Eddie and thanks for doing, with honor, what many of us cannot comprehend. Below are Eddie's words:

Hope Rides Alone by Sgt. Eddie Jeffers February 1, 2007, Ramadi, Iraq

I stare out into the darkness from my post, and I watch the city burn to the ground. I smell the familiar smells, I walk through the familiar rubble, and I look at the frightened faces that watch me pass down the streets of their neighborhoods. My nerves hardly rest; my hands are steady on a device that has been given to me from my government for the purpose of taking the lives of others.

I sweat, and I am tired. My back aches from the loads I carry. Young American boys look to me to direct them in a manner that will someday allow them to see their families again...and yet, I too, am just a boy....my age not but a few years more than that of the ones I lead. I am stressed, I am scared, and I am paranoid...because death is everywhere. It waits for me, it calls to me from around street corners and windows, and it is always there.

There are the demons that follow me, and tempt me into thoughts and actions that are not my own...but that are necessary for survival. I've made compromises with my humanity. And I am not alone in this. Miles from me are my brethren in this world, who walk in the same streets...who feel the same things, whether they admit to it or not.

And to think, I volunteered for this...

And I am ignorant to the rest of the world...or so I thought.

But even thousands of miles away, in Ramadi, Iraq, the cries and screams and complaints of the ungrateful reach me. In a year, I will be thrust back into society from a life and mentality that doesn't fit your average man. And then, I will be alone. And then, I will walk down the streets of America, and see the yellow ribbon stickers on the cars of the same people who compare our President to Hitler.

I will watch the television and watch the Cindy Sheehans, and the Al Frankens, and the rest of the ignorant sheep of America spout off their mouths about a subject they know nothing about. It is their right, however, and it is a right that is defended by hundreds of thousands of boys and girls scattered across the world, far from home. I use the word boys and girls, because that's what they are. In the Army, the average age of the infantryman is nineteen years old. The average rank of soldiers killed in action is Private First Class.

People like Cindy Sheehan are ignorant. Not just to this war, but to the results of their idiotic ramblings, or at least I hope they are. They don't realize its effects on this war. In this war, there are no Geneva Conventions, no cease fires. Medics and Chaplains are not spared from the enemy's brutality because it's against the rules. I can only imagine the horrors a military Chaplain would experience at the hands of the enemy. The enemy slinks in the shadows and fights a coward’s war against us. It is effective though, as many men and women have died since the start of this war. And the memory of their service to America is tainted by the inconsiderate remarks on our nation's news outlets. And every day, the enemy changes...only now, the enemy is becoming something new. The enemy is transitioning from the Muslim extremists to Americans. The enemy is becoming the very people whom we defend with our lives. And they do not realize it. But in denouncing our actions, denouncing our leaders, denouncing the war we live and fight, they are isolating the military from society...and they are becoming our enemy.

Democrats and peace activists like to toss the word "quagmire" around and compare this war to Vietnam. In a way they are right, this war is becoming like Vietnam. Not the actual war, but in the isolation of country and military. America is not a nation at war; they are a nation with its military at war. Like it or not, we are here, some of us for our second, or third times; some even for their fourth and so on. Americans are so concerned now with politics, that it is interfering with our war.

Terrorists cut the heads off of American citizens on the internet...and there is no outrage, but an American soldier kills an Iraqi in the midst of battle, and there are investigations, and sometimes soldiers are even jailed...for doing their job.

It is absolutely sickening to me to think our country has come to this. Why are we so obsessed with the bad news? Why will people stop at nothing to be against this war, no matter how much evidence of the good we've done is thrown in their face? When is the last time CNN or MSNBC or CBS reported the opening of schools and hospitals in Iraq? Or the leaders of terror cells being detained or killed? It's all happening, but people will not let up their hatred of President Bush. They will ignore the good news, because it just might show people that Bush was right.

America has lost its will to fight. It has lost its will to defend what is right and just in the world. The crazy thing of it all is that the American people have not even been asked to sacrifice a single thing. It’s not like World War II, where people rationed food and turned in cars to be made into metal for tanks. The American people have not been asked to sacrifice anything. Unless you are in the military or the family member of a service member, its life as usual...the war doesn't affect you.

But it affects us. And when it is over and the troops come home and they try to piece together what's left of them after their service...where will the detractors be then? Where will the Cindy Sheehans be to comfort and talk to soldiers and help them sort out the last couple years of their lives, most of which have been spent dodging death and wading through the deaths of their friends? They will be where they always are, somewhere far away, where the horrors of the world can't touch them. Somewhere where they can complain about things they will never experience in their lifetime; things that the young men and women of America have willingly taken upon their shoulders.

We are the hope of the Iraqi people. They want what everyone else wants in life: safety, security, somewhere to call home. They want a country that is safe to raise their children in. Not a place where their children will be abducted raped and murdered if they do not comply with the terrorists demands. They want to live on, rebuild and prosper. And America has given them the opportunity, but only if we stay true to the cause and see it to its end. But the country must unite in this endeavor...we cannot place the burden on our military alone. We must all stand up and fight, whether in uniform or not. And supporting us is more than sticking yellow ribbon stickers on your cars. It's supporting our President, our troops and our cause.

Right now, the burden is all on the American soldiers. Right now, hope rides alone. But it can change, it must change. Because there is only failure and darkness ahead for us as a country, as a people, if it doesn't.

Let's stop all the political nonsense, let's stop all the bickering, let's stop all the bad news and let's stand and fight!

Isn't that what America is about anyway?

Wise Words

America will "pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty".

What changed in America today, when these words were spoken by John Kennedy not long ago?

Alive Day Memories

I walked into the living room and turned on the TV. There was no rhyme or reason to when I got home and when I turned on the TV, but as soon as the picture developed, the screen read: "Alive Day Memories, Home From Iraq". Amazing, a documentary produced by James Gandolfini, that I knew about but had not had the opportunity to see. Now, here it was.

I watched as Gandolfini interviewed ten different soldiers who had been horribly injured in Iraq and lived to tell about it. I say Gandolfini interviewed them but in reality he sat and listened intently to each of these brave Americans talk about their brush with death, saying little.

Graphic video showed IEDs tearing apart Humvees, maiming the soldiers manning their posts. The documentary was not spun in either direction, it was the straight up truth about what each of these soldiers saw and felt.

Several soldiers, although proud of their service, still woke up every night seeing and living a personal hell when they re-lived in their mind the horrors of combat. Some said they would never go back and others said if given the opportunity they would go back. One soldier, now confined to a wheelchair had half his head ripped off causing a severe traumatic brain injury. He wants to go back to the Marine core as a drill instructor. Another Marine had both of his legs blown off, but even with no legs he was happier than ever when he took his kids ice skating.

Liberal or Conservative, if one watches this documentary you are moved by its power. These are our children, fathers, mothers, husbands and wives. Their sense of patriotic duty surpasses all understanding and for those who do not feel it, it is difficult to explain. Their words do not come easy and neither do the images. They braved the world and fought just as hard to tell the truth to America.

For these brave men and women, and the countless others injured in the War in Iraq, they now have two birthdays, the day they were brought into this world and their Alive Day, the day when they stepped over the line into death and came back.

SF Snipers Charged With Murder

Two SF Green Berets from Fort Bragg's Operational Detachment Alpha, Third Battalion, Third SF Group are being charged with murder despite a justifiable ruling when initially investigated. The two were part of a classified 12 man operation working in a village on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan last October. The rules of engagement stated that if they spotted the target, Nawab Buntangyar a terrorist cell leader, and postively identified him they could kill him. The two men, one senior and the other junior on the rifle, spotted Buntangyar and the senior officer gave the order to shoot. Buntangyar was shot once in the head from 100 yards and and was killed instantly.

SF Commanding General in Afghanistan, Frank Kearney, stated the killing appeared to be unjustified and illegal. Kearney pushed for charges to be leveled against the two even after an initial investigation ruled the shooting was justified. Kearney is the same General who forced a Marine unit out of Afghanistan because he believed they used unjustified force against Afghans during their missions.

As a General you would think Kearney would understand the realities of war. War is fast, fluid, unknown, scary and dirty. We have asked our troops to go to a horrible country, kill the enemy and help re-build a democracy. We don't know the whole truth behind the event but I am hard pressed to find any reason or any circumstance where we would want to try our own men for the murder of an Afghan. Allow me to explain.

ROE or not, if this guy was a terrorist cell leader, which he was reported to be, then I am glad he is dead. Why wouldn't we want to split his skull with a bullet? If he was not a terrorist leader or he was mis-identified as the terrorist leader they were looking for then those are the breaks of war. War is not a concisely planned event where all outcomes can be predicted. Best intel said he was a terrorist so we killed him. Another scenario was that he was a goat herder, an "innocent" bystander. I find that a little difficult to believe. The Taliban and Al-Queda are using any and all villages, especially along the border, to hide out and launch offensive terrorist operations from. If this was the case either he was helping them or would undoubtedly report the American presence to the Taliban fighters. The Taliban often use these "farmer" types as look outs and recon elements. Any way you look at it, the death of this Afghan means nothing in the grand scheme and certainly does not justify the trial of these two American heroes who were only doing what we asked of them.

Let me cement this with an example. Four members of SEAL team 10 were conducting operation Redwing in the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan on a similar mission. While waiting to take a precision sniper shot at a terrorist leader, they were stumbled upon by 3 "goat herders". They decided the right thing to do to save their lives and complete their mission was to kill the "innocent farmers". Their conscience got the best of them and they let them go. Within hours, upwards of 200 armed and deadly Taliban fighters descended on their hide, obviously directed there by the three goat herders for the Taliban. Four SEALs battled the hardened Taliban at a ratio of 45 Taliban to every American. Three SEALs were killed and one miraculously survived.

So, no matter what the situation was, I find it hard to stomach that we would try two SF snipers for killing the bad men we sent them to kill. These men should be given medals for going behind enemy lines to face the enemy. They killed that bastard and I thank them for it. By killing him they saved the lives of countless Americans that would have died if he would have lived.

Chemical Weapons Accident Kills Syrians & Iranians

Information has been uncovered proving that Syria and Iran are working together to proliferate weapons of mass destruction. Syria has long been known to be the leader in the Middle East of chemical weapons. On July 23, sources stated that Iran and Syria were working together in an attempt to mount a chemical warhead on a Scud missile. An explosion occurred causing an outbreak of sarin nerve gas. The accident killed dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian officers. The accident occurred in Syria.

Vague reports were circulated but nothing officially reported by Syria, who has not signed the Chemical Weapons Convention pact or the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.

To what degree this is a factual report I do not know. However, as any person with common sense knows, there is a degree of truth to everything. Iran and Syria are actively working for the destruction of their enemies.

The Vietnam War Memorial Is Vandalized

The Vietnam War memorial, simply known as The Wall was vandalized recently. An unknown corrosive substance was spread and splattered across two thirds of the base of the wall. The Wall itself along with the pavers leading up to the names of more than 58,000 Americans who died in Vietnam we discolored. Some of those 58,000 names were also scarred with the substance.
I have heard time and again from anti-war activists who claim they will deface The Wall but never seem to follow through with it. Veteran defenders often provided security during protests while our fellow Americans were dying overseas at that very moment. I was hopeful that it was all talk, but someone finally decided that it was time to disgrace themselves in this cowardly act. What a sad tribute to so many Americans who did for our freedom.
As much as I believe in justice and equality, I hope that the criminals who perpetrated this treasonous act are brought to justice in the dark alleys of America's heartland.

US Airstrikes Kill Taliban Leader Of S. Korean Kidnappings

Afghan officials announced today, that US air strikes had killed a high ranking Taliban leader involved in the kidnappings of 23 South Koreans teenagers several months ago. Taliban leader, Mullah Abdullah Jan was killed along with 12 other Taliban while they congregated in a mud hut in the Afghan mountains. Afghan officials claim Jan is the 5th and most high ranking Taliban leader involved in the kidnappings to be killed.

Big brother, the US military, is always watching and when you slip up and go taking kids hostage you can expect a timely death when the time is right. When you here that whistling, don't look to your neighbor...that sounds is coming from the JDAM about to bonk you on the head.

Iran Plans Strike Of 600 Rockets Into Israel

A website affiliated with the Iranian regime stated that if Iran or Syria is attacked, then Iran's first response will be to launch 600 Shihab-3 missiles into Israel and US targets in Iraq. The Shihab missile has a range of at least 1,300km and can strike anywhere in Israel. On Sunday, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner stated, "Iran does whatever it pleases in Iraq ... one cannot find in the entire world a crisis greater than this one."

Iran has shown its willingness to be an active participant in this evil plot to destroy the civilized world. Everyone claims that diplomacy is the key to victory with Iran; well, there can be no victory or even an acceptable outcome. Civilized Iranians want to become a west-like society but are being forced into this deadly game by their rogue government.

Iran's government and their leader Ahmadinejad are deniers of the Holocaust. They provide financial assistance and weapons to terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah and Hamas. They are in cahoots with Syria in the development of nuclear weapons, they send terrorists into Iraq to kill Americans, they continually threaten Israel, a nation who only wants peace. The list continues.

Why would any American accept the garbage spewed by the Iranian government. I do not recognize anything their government stands for and only their conversation to common sense, peace or their own destruction do I support.

Hugo Chavez & His War On America, And Now Mexico

Mexican intelligence released today, information linking Hugo Chavez to the bombings of 6 Pemex gas pipelines in Veracruz on September 10th. Claiming responsibility for the attacks was the subversive terrorist group Revolutionary Popular Army or EPR. The EPR is financed by the government if Hugo Chavez, including money and weapons.

In 2005, officials discovered in a Veracruz port, a vessel containing containers full of hundreds of AK-47 assault rifles. This shipment was intended to deliver to EPR addressees. Other armament shipments have been traced from their EPR receivers through numerous different entrance points within Mexico. Another subversive group terrorist was identified entering the US through the Canadian border carrying materials and propaganda, including bomb making information.

For those who don't know, Hugo Chavez is the owner of Citgo gas, the gas station commonly seen at 7-11 mini marts. He has also imported and provided free of charge, oil used for home heating to residents on the east coast of the US. Now, why he attacked the Pemex gas pipelines I cannot say, obviously it was a beneficial move on his part and the part of the EPR to benefit Venezuela's gas exports. I can say that exporting free oil into the US for home heating in the east is a propagandous move to attempt to win the hearts and minds of some Americans. He believes these few Americans will affect his standing when the times comes to wage a war against the United States in the media. Similar to how the media is proving to be a decisive tool in the war in Iraq right now.

Whatever the case, it is obvious that an open border between US and Mexico is a threat to the national security of the US. I have reported numerous times, that Al-Queda, Hezbollah and many other terrorist groups are using the southern border to their advantage to smuggle weapons and cells into the US for the sole purpose of waging a war behind enemy lines in the heartland of American.

Around The World Of Terrorism In 80 Seconds

On the 6th anniversary of 9/11, a 600 pound bomb was disabled in Turkey. The bomb was concealed inside a minivan parked at a local market place. Turkey is an ally of the US.

10 Iraqis were arrested in Lima, Peru attempting to pass through and enter the US on forged passports. One Iraqi escaped. The group is believed to have ties to Al-Queda.

Freelance Muslim terrorist arrested in Dearborn, Michigan park carrying loaded AK-47. He was wearing dark clothing and had his face painted in camouflage.

A man on the terrorism watch list was arrested in New Jersey after he was observed taking pictures of an Interstate 80 bridge that spans between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

South Korean students kidnapped and held hostage in Afghanistan by the Taliban were treated like slaves for three weeks and told to convert of die.

This was an instalment of around the world of terrorism 80 seconds. It all starts to add up even for those of you who believe terrorism is isolated to far regions of the world and for those of you who believe if we just let sleeping dogs lie we will not get bit. Well guess what: they are actively trying to catch us off guard so they can conquer and kill us, whether we convert of not. Well, I for one will not submit...ever.

N. Korea Provide Nuclear Material to Syria / Iran?

Israel claims they have spotted what they believe to be a nuclear installation inside Syria with components they believe to be provided by North Korea. This information was gleaned from recon flights over Syria. News agencies in Israel report that Israeli fighters may have launched an attack against the suspected installation. Others believe that if a attack was launched it was most likely an attack against a weapons cache headed to Hezbollah from Iran while making its way through Syria.

On North Korea's suspected involvement, a North Korean official stated, "This is a very dangerous provocation little short of wantonly violating the sovereignty of Syria and seriously harassing the regional peace and security...The Democratic People's Republic of Korea strongly denounces the above-said intrusion and extends full support and solidarity to the Syrian people in their just cause to defend the national security and the regional peace".

Is there anything to be said?

Russia Tests Worlds Most Powerful Vacuum Bomb

Russia announced Tuesday that it has successfully tested the worlds most powerful vacuum bomb. The bomb, named "Father of all Bombs" has the destructive power of a nuclear bomb without the fallout. The bomb, which they insist does not conflict with any international treaties, causes massive destruction with an ultrasonic shock wave and incredibly high temperatures. A Russian authority stated, "all that is alive merely evaporates".

Compared to the US Massive Ordinance Air Burst bomb or MOAB, the Russian FOAB is four times more powerful with the equivalent of 44 metric tons of TNT. The temperature at the epicenter of the blast is twice as high.

Russian president Putin has recently ordered strategic bomber missions be flown on a regular schedule requiring NATO and other friendly nations to scramble fighter jets to intercept and escort them to deter any attacks. It is unknown if any of these bombers are already deploying the FOAB when they fly their missions.

If the Cold War did not heat back up with the resumed bomber missions, then it certainly has now. Their is no reason for the defunct Russian government to began this "arms race" with the rest of the world. Russia is not the target of any nation and by resuming strategic bomber flights
they only serve as an instigation to other countries to do the same. By testing and presumably deploying a bomb of this magnitude when they have no reason to use it as they are not involved in any of the current campaigns to ride the world of terrorists, it only serves as a first strike weapon against NATO or US forces.

I do not believe Putin is dumb enough to attack the US but when he steps down shortly, we cannot be sure what will happen in the vacuum he leaves. I doubt Russia's nuclear arsenal is in full control and I also doubt that their inventory of these bombs would be in control either. To insure the doctrine of mutually assured destruction or at least to maintain pace with the Russian military and maintain their defensive capabilities, other countries must maintain step with the Russian government and their military tactics. This can only create another arms race similar to the Cold War.

IDF Soldiers Attacked While Sleeping

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, while Israeli Defense Forces slept at a training camp, they were attacked with Kassam rockets without provocation. Shortly after the rocket attacks wounded 69 soldiers, motors rained down on the Gaza strip. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. Hamas, which is held responsible for the attack because of their control over the region, stated this was a victory given by god. The IDF forces did not retaliate most likely as to not disrupt the up-coming peace summit.

Why do we continue to try and negotiate a peace between the Israelis and an enemy that commits atrocities like this. Attacking IDF soldiers for no reason, attacking citizens by raining rockets and motors down on them and kidnapping, torturing and murdering Israelis. Land for peace deals will not satisfy Hamas, Islamic Jihad or any other Islamic extremists. The only thing they want is the blood of Americans and Israelis. They seek only destruction and death.

We Are Making Progress In Iraq

According to General David Petraeus, the objectives of the military surge in Iraq are, "largely being met". The Iraqis are shouldering "more of the load" and Al-Queda is "off balance". Violence across Iraq is down particularly in the al-Anbar province and Baghdad. IED attacks, suicide bombings and other high profile attacks are down dramatically from the pre-surge levels.

Due to the success of Multinational Force Iraq, Petraeus can recommend a steady with drawl of 30,000 troops by next summer, starting with a brigade of 4,000 Army soldiers by next month as well as 2.000 Marines. Petraeus warned that a massive pull-out favoured by Democrats would leave Iraq in a state of un-rest and Al-Queda would certainly rise up and fill the vacuum. Petraeus stated, "a premature draw-down of our forces would likely have devastating consequences".

This is good news, we are making positive progress. We will still have setbacks in Iraq when dealing with a non-traditional and unpredictable enemy, but we will also have triumphant times when we can take pride in our positive affects in that country. One things remains clear no matter what happens over there: we must continue to support our troops and be proud of their dedicated service. We must do everything we can to help them complete their mission and give them the tools they needs to finish the fight and win.

The Games They Play

Syria announced today that they fired on an Israeli military aircraft that violated Syrian airspace. Syrian government officials stated that the aircraft crossed the northern boarder from the Mediterranean, broke the sound barrier and dropped some ammunition in the norther deserted desert. The Syrians then claim to have fired on the aircraft forcing it to leave their airspace.

A Syrian spokesperson stated, "We warn the Israeli enemy government against this flagrant aggressive act, and retain the right to respond in an appropriate way".

Lets not forget first and foremost that Syria is a state sponsor of terrorism, especially Israelis enemy Hezbollah. Second, why would an Israeli enter Syrian airspace and drop ammunition in the deserted desert. The Syrians have no proof or they would have produced a box of ammo with the Israeli flag printed on the side. If the aircraft did in fact enter, I am sure that is was a mistake on the route the aircraft was flying. For the Syrians to provoke a response by firing on the aircraft just goes to show their mentality in working toward the peace process.

Germany Twarts Terrorist Attacks Against US

Three Islamic terrorist were arrested today on charges of possession of bomb making materials and plans to attack US military instillation's and US personnel in terrorists attacks. Germany's elite GSG-9 anti-terrorist group made the arrest after surveillance efforts against the three revealed they had been watching US military installations and had been procuring bomb making materials.

Upon arrests, the three were found to have enough hydrogen peroxide to make bombs equivalent to 1,200 lbs of TNT.

The terrorists were part of a newly formed German cell of the Islamic Jihad Union, influenced by Al-Queda. The three, two Germans and one Turk, had trained in Pakistan and nursed "a profound hatred of US citizens".

We can throw this one on the pile of evidence that Islamic terrorism is seeking the un-deniable destruction of the United States and its citizens. These people are willing to conduct terrorist operations in their own country, even targeting their own people as collateral damage just to kill a few Americans.

SSG David Bellavia Rushes Into Insurgent Fire

In the fight for Fallujah, SSG David Bellavia and his unit were assigned the task to sweep and secure a city block where some insurgent activity was suspected. They had searched numerous houses finding nothing. They came upon one house and found numerous insurgent weapons including AK-47s and RPGs.

They continued searching the house. As they moved down the hallway, two insurgents popped up at the end of the hallway. One began spraying machine gun fire at Bellavia and his troops. The other was preparing to fire and RPG down the hallway which would have killed every troop in the hallway. Bellavia engaged the enemy and shot them both.

Bellavia continued moving down the hallway with his men behind. Another insurgent popped out and engaged Bellavia, simultaneously an insurgent popped out of a closet directly to Bellavia's side. The insurgent tripped coming out, most likely saving Bellavia's life. Bellavia shot and killed one and the other ran up the stairs to another bedroom.

Bellavia ran after the insurgent and tossed a hand grenade into the room injuring the enemy. As he entered the room, he heard the voices of two other insurgents in the next room preparing an ambush for the American troops outside and below. Fearing he would give his position away by shooting the insurgent, he engaged in hand to hand combat. After fighting on the ground, Bellavia was able to retrieve his knife and kill the insurgent by cutting his throat.

The two other insurgents entered the room where Bellavia was and began spraying the room with machine gun fire. Bellavia returned precision rifle fire and killed both of them.

Bellavia's surge into enemy fire and superior combat skills saved the lives of his men and the men located outside the building that were about to be ambushed. Bellavia was nominated for the Medal of Honor and received the Silver Star for actions.

BlackFive Features Soldiers Angels Needs

From Blackfive:

Calling All Angels!Posted By Blackfive
With the Surge in full swing and fighting escalating in Afghanistan, there is a growing need to help our wounded, and the families of the wounded and the Fallen soldiers. Soldiers' Angels is there for them and they need your help to keep providing support. Funds are drying up. Soldiers' Angels needs donations now.

If you can't donate cash, you can Adopt a Soldier or a Platoon of Soldiers, you can join one of the teams to help support our troops with your valuable time, donate your airmiles to help a soldier and his family reunite, donate your cell phone or even your car....I could go on and on.
If you've been around here for awhile you know how I feel about these people. They need our help. Here are some of the things that they do that you may not know about:

This is a request for a flight for a soldier injured in Germany:
...Situation was a soldier in Germany fell off a bridge landing on his head and is in very critical condition and not sure if he will survive or not. He is currently at BAMC DC. He needed flights for the parents, which Fisher House wouldn't do because his injury didn't occur in Iraq or Afghanistan...so I went ahead and took care of that for him. It was approximately $500 for each ticket and I did get travel insurance with it as well, given his status is so touch and go...

This is from a Major about a unit in Afghanistan:
...A unit was on patrol and was engaged by hostile fire. The company commander was killed along with another soldier. In the ensuing fight numerous other soldiers were wounded. Two of those soldiers were medevac'd to Walter Reed. One lost an eye and will continue to have corrective surgery for probably sometime. The other had his leg shattered and will have a steel rod surgically implanted. After the company commander was killed, the senior ranking officer became a young Lieutenant who had to make some quick decisions to save the lives of the rest of his young soldiers. This Lieutenant was very good friends with the company commander. The unit is based out of Germany, but the Lieutenant and the family of the deceased Captain are from the DC/Virginia area. To make a long story short, the unit in Afghanistan sent the Lieutenant to the DC area to act as the unit representative. He departed with little guidance and no advance travel pay. He paid for his own ticket to get from Dallas to DC. He called this office from Ireland to seek guidance and incurred over 300 dollars in phone charges. He is strapped for money at this time. He also asked if there was anyway to possibly borrow some class A uniforms for the 2 soldiers at Walter Reed so that they could attend the graveside services of their company commander. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated not only by me, but by all of Americas Hero's...

Soldiers' Angels is also trying to get that Company Commander's family to the funeral at Arlington, too.

This is what the Soldiers' Angels do. Anywhere, anytime, whatever the need is, they take care of our military family.

Yes, there are plenty of things our government could do better. But you can sit around and listen to politicians whine about it and take care of their own self interests. And while that happens you can be the one to make a difference. Please donate now.

Top Taliban Leader Killed In US Led Attack

Taliban insurgents ambushed an Afghan army unit today. US forces attached to the Afghan unit responded with ground fire and an air strike. Mullah Brother was killed in the fighting. Mullah Brother was the Taliban's military commander before the fall of the Taliban. He was also a member of the Taliban council. He was identified and placed on the black list of wanted Taliban insurgents.

Great job guys, keep up the good work.

Straight From Elmo's Mouth

Referring to US forces in Iraq, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated, "The political power of the occupiers is collapsing rapidly...Soon, we will see a huge power vacuum in the region. Of course, we are prepared to fill the gap, with the help of neighbors and regional friends like Saudi Arabia, and with the help of the Iraqi nation."

You have heard it from bloggers, military commanders, the President of the US and now Ahmadinejad himself. Iran is an enemy who seeks to fill the security vacuum in Iraq if we do not destroy the insurgency first.

Top Ten US Military Slogans

10. We don’t like collateral damage, but it helps to stay the @#$% out of our way.

9. Total destruction in 30 minutes or the next one is free.

8. Often mistaken for the wrath of God.

7. We kill foreigners so you don’t have to.

6. If everything is exploding around you, that’s probably us.

5. Dictator got you down? Ask about our new “regime change” policy!

4. Just point at what you want dead.

3. Trying to win hearts and minds, but willing to splatter them if necessary.

2. When it absolutely positively has to be destroyed overnight.

1. We’re from the government, and we’re here to kill you.

Yousuf-The Face Of Tragedy

One day little Yousuf went outside to play with some friends when he was cornered by several insurgents. According to Yousuf, "they poured gasoline, burnt me and ran". Yousuf began burning to inevitable death. He brought his hands to his face in an attempt to smother the flames. He was unable to quench the flames and the fire spread to his hands. His mother ran outside and found her son engulfed in flames...burning.

Yousuf survived but is clearly disfigured. His injuries have forced him to learn out to eat differently. He has become jealous of his sister and kids refuse to play with him because of his scars. Yousuf used to play outside all the time and now he sits by himself and plays with the computer.

When you question our resolve to win the war and whether the lives of our soldiers are worth it, remind yourself of what this enemy is capable of. Is the sacrifice of American blood worth saving a child from a savage attack like this in the future?

I think so.

Front Line Reports From Iraq

We are winning!

Author and Columnist, Ralph Peters is currently reporting from Iraq and the news is good. Peters states, "Now the Sunni Arabs who were fighting so bitterly against us are fighting
beside us to destroy al Qaeda in Iraq. And the terrorists are going down". Peters feels, "Al Qaeda is on the verge of a humiliating, devastating strategic defeat - rejected by their fellow Sunni Muslims".

The surge is in full effect. A permanent curfew is in effect and vehicle traffic has been restricted in an effort to deter and reduce vehicle borne improvised explosive device attacks. While politicians at home snivel about what the war is costing their careers, our boys on the front lines are destroying the enemy and winning the war. We must allow enough time for our tactics to work.

Israel Under "The Flag Of Satan"?

On Saturday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that Israel was the "flag of Satan" and destined to fall apart. During an international religious conference, Ahmadinejad stated, "the Zionist regime is the flag bearer of violation and occupation and this regime is the flag of Satan".

Just another reminder of what Iran's philosophy is regarding Jews and the survival of Israel.

Staying The Course And Winning The War

In a speech yesterday to the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, President Bush compared the war in Iraq and Afghanistan to WWII and Vietnam. However, instead of admitting defeat and comparing our losses to those suffered in Vietnam, he made it perfectly clear what it will take to defeat and enemy who he compared to Nazis and Imperial Kamikazes led by an evil ideology.

The War was not waged by us, but against us. We were attacked on our sovereign soil. Now the enemy uses suicide tactics in an effort to deter the American people from war because of its brutality. In an interview with Osama Bin Laden shortly after the 9/11 attacks, he stated “the American people had risen against their government’s war in Vietnam. And they must do the same today”.

The goal of the Islamic extremists is to terrify the American people to the point where we demand that our government brings our troops home. If we do this, they have won. Pulling out of Vietnam may have saved some American lives but how many South Vietnamese were tortured and killed after we left?

President Bush stated, “today the violent Islamic extremists who fight us in Iraq are as certain of their cause as the Nazis, or the Imperial Japanese, or the Soviet communists were of theirs. They are destined for the same fate.…So long as we remain true to our ideals, we will defeat the extremists in Iraq and Afghanistan…”.

In Gary Bauer’s “End of Day” report he states the following, “Hitler and Hirohito were not intimidated by our ideals. They were not defeated by diplomacy. It took blood and iron to bring Berlin to its knees. It took the horror of atomic destruction to pacify the kamikazes. It will take much more than our “ideals” to prevent another Dark Age from engulfing the civilized world. Securing America’s future will require the sacrifice of lives and treasure. Our veterans understand that, even if too many of our elites do not”.

Iraqi Militants Admit Training Ties With Hezbollah

Iraqi Mehdi insurgents, led by Muqtada al-Sadr, have admitted to receiving advanced guerrilla warfare tactics in Lebanon with Hezbollah. One insurgent stated he spent a month in Lebanon receiving training and, "learned how to take advantage of an armoured vehicle’s weakness, and how to wait and kill the soldiers who try to escape". A different insurgent stated he was with a group of 100 other insurgents and stated that Hezbollah showed them, "real tactics and taught our snipers”. This information was received from intelligence gathering by British soldiers and from one of Muqtada's speeches to the Mehdi army.

Interesting how everything in that region is tied together huh?

Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Israel,.........they are all characters in the same play.

The Cold War Just Heated Back Up

Russia and China have joined forces...literally, in an apparent show of force directed towards the United States. In an exercise conducted on Russian soil, thousands of Russian and Chinese soldiers conducted military operations, which included fighter jets flying overhead.

Separately from these military exercises, Russian President Vladimir Putin has re-instated long range Russian bomber missions reminiscent of the Cold War. These missions are designed to take Russian bombers to a location close enough to the United States for the purpose of nuclear weapons release. NATO jets were scrambled to escort the Russian bombers.

It seems neighbors of the Middle East are finally waking up and trying to get a piece for themselves. First of all this should worry the United States. China is an ally of North Korea, another rogue regime with the goal of creating a nuclear arsenal of its own. Second, Russia is a defunct nation (or so we thought) with an already developed nuclear arsenal and no clear indication of who is in control of them. Now China and Russia have formed a coalition against the US under a group called the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The SCO was created 11 years ago to address religious extremism and border security issues in Central Asia. Signing on as observers and attending SCO summits is Iran and its President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, yet another fanatic seeking nuclear weapons.

In the past, SCO has demanded that US military bases in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan be vacated. The SCO also now demands that radar and missile interceptions system, put in place for strategic defense and not offensive operations, be removed or not placed in Poland and the Czech Republic.

The dots are connecting themselves and you can clearly see who is against us and who is with us. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, they are all against us and in bed together to prevent the globalization of US interest and peace itself. After all, the globalization efforts of the US, no matter your opinion on them, are directed toward achieving peace around the world. We must remain vigilant. As I have said, it will get worse before it gets better. Not only are we dealing with Islamic extremism and its radical spread around the world, but now the Cold War has re-emerged and shown itself to be inherently connected to our current wars and conflicts in the Middle East.

American Hero Cpl. Jason L. Dunham

On April 14, 2004, Jason was on patrol in Iraq near the Syrian border with his unit K Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines. The patrol encountered and attempted to subdue an insurgent. During the struggle the insurgent dropped a bomb. Jason selflessly ripped his helmet off his head and threw himself on top of the bomb using his helmet to try and deflect the blast.

The insurgent, thrown clear of the blast, attempted to run but was immediately gunned down by fellow Marines. When the smoke cleared, Jason's helmet was ripped to shreds and Jason lay face down in a pool of blood.

Jason had received major shrapnel wounds to his face but he was alive. Jason would remain alive but unconscious for eight days before succumbing to his wounds at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda with his mother and father at his side. He was 22.

Jason's dedicated actions saved the lives of his fellow Marines. Due to his heroic actions, Jason was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in January of this year. No greater gift than for one man to lay his life down for a friend. Jason not only laid his life down for his friends and brothers but he laid it down for all of us. So that are families would not know the evil wrath that he faced on that fateful day.

God bless Cpl. Jason L. Dunham, American Hero. Thank you for what you did.

Don't Let 'Em Stick It In Your Backdoor

I have previously reported on Hezbollah conducting drug and terrorism operations in the Tri-Border region of South America. This alone should frighten us into securing our border, but now we have information that Islamic terrorist are infiltrating Mexico and South America, learning to speak Spanish and adopting Hispanic sur names. They are involving themselves in the drug cartels and adopting their strategies for entry into the United States. They are doing this to implant terrorist cells into the US. They know that the border is the backdoor to the US.

When will we realize that our families' security is only as secure as our borders? All the arguments regarding foreign worker programs and the benefits that should be afforded to illegals means nothing if we are in a state of war on our own soil. We must first secure the US and then maintain that security before we worry about how families from Mexico will be offended or affected.

Surge Effect

According to military commanders in Iraq, the Surge is working. Since troop strength was increased 6 months ago, major attacks on American soldiers has declined 50%. The month of July saw 70 major attacks, down from 130 in March. Major attacks are inclusive of high profile attacks favored by Al-Queda.

Not only are attacks down due to the Surge but also because Iraqi are turning against Al-Queda. Tribal forces, once the enemy of US troops, are now working with US troops to locate and destroy Al-Queda.

So now that the positive effects of the Surge are producing themselves, why are we listening to the left wing anti-war radicals who want us to leave and conceded victory? The goal is finally beginning to be revealed. Not only is our own military getting the job done but Iraqi are finally standing up and defending themselves. This is what we want. We don't we help them succeed instead of dooming them to defeat?

Good job boys, keep up the good work.

Chertoff Analyzes Airline Plot

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff offered the details of the thwarted attack last summer that led airlines to ban all liquids from airlines... a ban that is still in effect.

One year ago, Islamic terrorists had planned and were preparing to execute a terrorist attack on the United States that would have rivaled 9/11. There plan was to smuggle liquid explosives aboard 7-8 airliners entering the US from London. While in flight the explosives would be prepared and detonated. British authorities worked diligently on the case and in a raid that lasted 12 hours through the middle of the night, they arrested 24 British Muslims and 7 Pakistanis.

Chertoff stated the enemy did their research and knew how to circumvent security, although he would not state how because he did not want to release active security measures in place. However, the terrorists were planning on smuggling the liquids on board disguising them as sports drinks. One security expert stated that experts were, "stunned at the extent that the suspects had gamed the system to exploit its weaknesses."

We have been issued the report on the events of this terrorist plot and still we do not pressure those who complain or worse yet try to deviate from active security measures. A group of Muslim Imams board an airliner and begin testing not only airline security but the resiliency and dedication of our American people to protect themselves by displaying those actions which would likely present themselves before a terrorist attack. The Imams are arrested and are now filing a law suit against the airline and the citizens who reported their suspicious activity.

Why are we allowing this? Common sense should guide our attitudes and behavior regarding our own security. If we feel something is wrong, then something is wrong. Why not take extra precaution instead of not enough? The enemy is testing us still and will strike at a time of their choosing when they feel we are the weakest. We must remain vigilant. Another attack has been fore-shadowed to occur within the next 90 days according to reports. The question is not IF another attack will occur but WHEN.

Attack On American Cities Likely

From Gary Bauer's End of Day report:

Counterterrorism expert Juval Aviv believes that an Al Qaeda attack on
several American cities is likely within the next ninety days. Aviv
states, "I predict, based primarily on information that is floating in
Europe and the Middle East, that an event is imminent and around the corner
here in the United States. It could happen as soon as tomorrow, or it
could happen in the next few months. Ninety days at the most."

Aviv’s warning should not go unnoticed. He has a respectable background
that includes service as an Israeli Counterterrorism Intelligence Officer
and as a special consultant to the United States Congress on terrorism and
security.

Another indication that an attack on the United States may be in the works
is the release of a new Al-Qaeda video titled, "Wait for the Big Surprise."
The video shows a digitally altered image of President Bush and Pakistani
President Musharraf engulfed by flames with the White House burning in the
background.

Despite the fact there has not been a major terrorist attack on American
soil since 9/11, Aviv’s remarks and this new Al Qaeda video remind us that
the enemy has not retreated and still desires to inflict great harm on the
United States. Other American intelligence agencies have recently
suggested that Al Qaeda operatives are in the United States and are waiting
for the right time to strike again.

The radical Left is convinced that if we get out of Iraq the threat of a
terror attack on the United States would be greatly reduced. They are
wrong. Our retreat would be seen throughout the world as a sign of
American weakness; it would be perceived in the Middle East as a victory
for Al Qaeda. And it would invite more aggression, not less.

The Left does not understand that our enemy is relentless and will stop at
nothing until our way of life is destroyed. Reports like Mr. Aviv’s are
sobering reminders of the war we are in with a persistent and patient
enemy.

The Ariborne Soldier

"I was that which others did not want to be. I went where others feared to go. And did what others failed to do. I asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness, should I fail. I have seen the face of terror, felt the cold sting of fear, and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment of love. I have cried, pained and hoped, but most of all I have lived times others would say were best forgotten. At least someday I will be able to say I was proud of what I was!" - An Airborne Soldier

The Warrior....The Father

On September 6, 2003, then Capt. Southworth, was leading a military police unit charged with training the Iraqi police. They were patrolling an Iraqi town when they stopped into a local orphanage. Upon they're arrival, a little orphan boy by the name of Ala'a, crippled by cerebral palsy and left for dead in the streets of Iraq, pulled himself across the floor, smiled and spoke sever English words to Southworth.

Ala'a's heartfelt actions crippled Southworth's emotions and a life long bond was formed. Southworth's tour was set to end in July of 2004 but he was able to visit numerous times over the months. Southworth was determined to bring Ala's home but under Iraqi law a foreigner could not adopt and Iraqi. Southworth was finally able to bring Ala's to the US for medical treatment. Upon his arrival in the US, Southworth was able to secure humanitarian parole for Ala's and adopted him as his son.

Ala'a is in school, fluent in English and learning to read. Doctors have donated their time to treat Ala's cerebral palsy and he is learning to walk.

Southworth's heroic story does not end here. In June of this year, US soldiers found 24 orphan's being severally neglected and on the verge of death. Southworth as well as several other soldiers are working to bring these children to the US for adoption. 40 families have already agreed to house the young children until they are adopted.

In 2005, Southworth was awarded the US Army's General MacArthur leadership award for his commitment to "duty, honor and country".

Whatever your opinion is on the war, you must admit that Southworth is true American hero. To sacrifice the ease of his own life and take on the challenge of loving and being a father to an Iraqi child with cerebral palsy is remarkable. Southwork recognizes Ala'a for what he is and that is a child, just like any other child, with a heart filled with love for his new dad. God bless Southworth as a father and for what he is trying to accomplish in the name of love.
